Message I pulled the engine because a lot of hoses needed to be replaced including the oil lines to the turbos, it also needed a timing belt changed.

I yanked the engine to realize that it's pretty damn filthy so I ordered a gasket kit to clean things up, when I yanked the exhaust manifolds off I realized that the valve seals are shot and oil is leaking down.

I pulled the heads and took them to the machine shop to have them rebuilt, at that point people on TT.net and local Z owners recommended that I should at least change the bearings and rings since I'm already so deep...so the crank and pistons were removed.

And thus I ended rebuilding the whole engine. It has taken me so long since I was learning as I went and also I had to stop for some months because of school.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
